Character Summary: Hermes is a first-generation AI. Or more specifically, a self-aware computer game NPC. He breaks the fourth wall of the computer game named Fortuna, but not the other fourth wall, thus he is unaware that he's actually from a webcomic. He's an excitable chatterbox with a slight obsession with shipping and he usually does the tutorial and has Been Through Some Shit. I'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum uf you care.
Desired CR: All CR! Even negative CR! Give it to me.
Offered CR: First off, he's looking for someone to captain his ship, which is known as a Speedster. He's also willing to make friends with people, and his morality is a bit suspect seeing as he regularly participates in an activity known as "Killing Hour".

Character Name: Doctor
Canon: Doctor Who
Character Summary: The Doctor is a time traveling alien from the planet Gallifrey... who won't talk about that much unless its to friends or it happens to come out during the course of an adventure. He is childish, always playing and sticking his nose into everything, but he is also very clever in pretty much all fields of science. He is not a strong fighter so look for him to try and outwit his opponents. Really... if things do go fisticuffs he becomes an arm twirling windmill, its not pretty.
Desired CR: While I would like to say he has his TARDIS with him he isn't very skilled at flying it. What I would like to do is have him join some one else's crew and use the TARDIS for his cabin and perhaps the occasional mission where a small shuttle-like craft might be useful.

Additionally he could use some friends and traveling companions. The journey is so much more fun with some one to share it with!

Potential rivals? Anyone looking to use their wish for world/universe conquest would find themselves at odds with the Doctor I'm afraid. He is very much about preventing things like that from happening.
Offered CR: The Doctor has performed the functions of an actual Doctor in several very tense situations. He could offer his medical expertise in a pinch.

Technical knowledge is also on the table. He has repaired his own ship and the ships of others and crafted useful gadgets for missions, so he could help with any repairs that were needed or maybe whip up some interesting devices if given the right materials.

He fluctuates between grumpy old man and fun loving kid so if you are looking for a sympathetic ear or some one to play jacks with he would be perfectly at ease with either.

Character Summary: Okay so you know how sometimes you're watching a show and you, for whatever reason, hyperfocus on the one character that the creators just don't care about? Like, he's there, technically rounding out the team, but he's like... he's just there, he's filler material with a face. That guy. And then you read the backstory, and somehow that guy is actually the main character and the whole-ass anime just got so distracted by how much they want the other characters to kiss or whatever that they accidentally forgot the plot of the story?

That's Wufei. My boy got so little screentime it's insulting.

Desired CR: If Wufei makes even one new friend in the next calendar year I'll be surprised, so I will go ahead and add that to my wishlist. He's the kind of spurious, self-sufficient ass who'd voluntarily go into solitary confinement if it'd get him away from your inane nonsense... Which makes him hard to associate with, and harder to befriend. He cares super deeply about people, when he cares at all, but it's getting him to care at all that's the hard part.

Offered CR: If you've ever tried to pet a feral cat, that's the vibe. I'm so sorry. At least he's pretty?

Character Summary: Pioneer 10 is what you get if you cross a sports fan, a D&D nerd, and a cheerleader, and then upload their brain onto a space probe and give them a fifteen-thousand year long existential crisis that they keep refusing to have.

All in all, she's grounded, blunt, basically kind, an all around big sisterly type. She is also a sentient space probe who will not be able to do much for you, even if she wanted to. Ten is mostly here to commentate on your downfall, I'm not going to lie.

And she has Big Opinions about most everything.

Desired CR: Ten needs friends! She needs enemies! She needs... a audience! she also needs to find some hot goss and spicy drama to oversee.

Offered CR: She's definitely the coolest big sister ever. She will adopt you, she will give you the hard truths, she will tell you all about the best stuff.

Character Summary: Heero is a 17 year old Gundam/fighter jet pilot and former terrorist/assassin who - unlike his castmates, who come from an earlier canonpoint - has already protagonized his way through two wars and is feeling kinda done. BUT since soldiering is the only life he's ever known, AND he measures his self-worth almost entirely in tactical losses and victories, he's just gonna... keep... doing that.

So in that vein, Heero has already convinced himself that all powerful wish-granting treasure can't be trusted in anyone's hands, so saving the multiverse from the LOOMING THREAT OF FORTUNA'S DISCOVERY by finding the treasure first and destroying it is as good a mission as any. 🙃 Sure, he doesn't have his Gundam with him, but that's never stopped him before...
Desired CR: Crosscanon! I know Heero is hard to get along with as he is not naturally inclined towards sharing information about himself, asking a lot of questions, or offering his friendship/allyship, but if us players can brainstorm a hook, I would LOVE to get Heero to branch out and start gaining some perspective outside of his little bubble of equally psychologically traumatized war orphans.
Offered CR: "Super intense rival" is on point for Heero! I'd love that. Trust and allyship is probably open to under-18s and special circumstances only (e.g. shared missions, similar life experiences, etc), but he'll make an enemy of anyone at any age. I'm not terribly interested in pursuing parental or close mentor-type relationships at the moment. BUT, I am open to contriving circumstances to get difficult characters interacting, branching off mutual CR, etc!

Canon: Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans
Character Summary: Gaelio is an idiot, a hypocrite, a rich bastard, and he suffers from anime protag disease where he is terminally useless without his friends/people important to him. That said, he's grown out of his angry emo phase, even though he hasn't completely outgrown the weed-whacker haircut, he can be charming when he wants to, and has a strong moral code... most of the time. He's also a Gundam pilot! His particular Gundam is fitted with a unique system that houses the mind (sort of) of his dead subordinate, and Gaelio is linked to it through an implant called the Alaya-Vijnana Type E. Gaelio also talks to his Gundam like he's talking to said subordinate. He's weird. All his friends are dead. It's fine. He's secretly hoping Fortuna actually exists and can resurrect the dead because my man has a list. A short one, but a list nonetheless.
Desired CR: Oh anything and everything. People to call him out on his rich bastard status; people who realize he's a weirdo but don't mind... maybe a mechanic for his Gundam Kimaris, because he sure can't do it; sparring partners, either fencing or mobile suit/Gundams.
Offered CR: Bullying but actually loving older brother vibes, if anyone is interested in that and the CR gets there; friendly (or not so friendly) rivals, especially with other giant-mech-pilots; someone to drink tea and share a little light gossip with.
Other: Aside from it's godawful ending and shitpost quality low-res frames (see icon), Gundam IBO is also known for its line of merchandise with the characters as hamsters, guinea pigs, and cats, all of which are way cuter than they have any right to be. For your viewing pleasure:

From this (and the TDM!) I feel like these two might get along very well. Ari's always up for gossip over drinks, if they get to know each other better he might learn about her super rich planet-owning family and they can discuss the issues around that. And she can definitely handle a bit of teasing if she likes him.

Character Summary: Duo is a gremlin former street child turned sweeper/gundam pilot/'former' terrorist and trained assassin. Don't let the long hair and generally jovial smile fool you - he isn't afraid of a little murder. Unlike his more grumpy and taciturn friends he doesn't mind a good conversation, nor is he opposed to things like friendly ribbing of people when the opportunity presents itself. He's also got a big Gundam for his use, so there's that.

.. Just don't surprise him, he carries a few knives in odd places.

Desired CR: Duo makes friends pretty quickly, so that's a given. I would love cross-canon CR of any kind, mainly so that he doesn't spend all his time holed up with 3 out of 4 of his friends from back home, who he tends to be insular toward. At the moment I'm not aiming for anything incredibly particular, let's just go for it!

Offered CR: Gremlin child who is very, very smart but happens to pretend to use his brain as little as humanly possible, also incredibly giving and warm to people despite how much he wants to pretend that he's a hard ass. Duo's a little shit that will tend to lean toward people his age or below with an intense distrust for adults, particularly those that want to make use of him somehow. Let's avoid even attempting something like a parental or mentor-type thing, Duo will explode that pretty darn quick.

Canon: Space Pirate Captain Harlock/Leiji-verse
Character Summary: Harlock is the OG Anime Space Pirate, he rebelled against the corrupt Earth Federation and was branded a pirate - a role he completely leans into. He values freedom and free will above all else, and makes it a habit of never breaking any promises he make. He's the guardian/godfather to a seven year old girl, and still grieves for his dead best friend, so he is slow to get very close to people in fear of losing them again.

NOTE: Leiji Matsumoto tends to use the same characters in very different stories, and they're not necessarily canon-compliant with each other.
Desired CR: fellow freedom-loving no-hopers, jokers, and rogues - people that don't quite fit in with normal society or looking a place to belong. A rival to cross swords with - because a good rival makes life more fun. Drinking buddies, adults to shoot the breeze with.

Offered CR: Harlock in a nutshell is a hands-off mentor, he's very prone to invite troubled people onto the Arcadia to help them figure themselves out. He also enjoys teasing and goading military and other rule-abiding types - especially if they're the honorable types (He likes them, he just thinks they're better off elsewhere). He also is both Very Tired and A Stealth Gremlin, so he can easily be both the voice of reason, and the first person to run off to deliberately spring a trap.

About me: Average 30something RPer really, have been in this hobby off and on since I was like 15. Sometimes leave, but always end up coming back to it. I like space operas, mecha, danmei, magical girls, kpop, superheroes, and all sorts of stuff. Current Claim to Fame is playing League of Legends for a decade with not a single ban or behavioral punishment, because I'm not and have never been a toxic douchenozzle like the community is usually portrayed as. lol

Live in the UK so have a wonky time zone compared to some, but also keep weird hours. Currently moving, but I'll still be around doing stuff anyway, because... because.

I'm also incredibly easy to enable and more than willing to enable others, for the record. Doing this in parts slightly pre-emptively because I apped 2 this round.

Quatre Raberba Winner | Gundam Wing

Character Summary: Has been described as a Pit Viper with the face of an angel. So appearance wise he very much looks like a soft, sweet, young teenager who's lived a pampered and sheltered life. Spoilers: Not so much.

As per-canon typical for the protags here, he's a teenage soldier/terrorist type and pilot. Which, that's about where the similarities end for the most part. Not actually a big fan of violence and killing. Absolutely the sort to offer a chance to surrender before the killing part. That said, if he feels you have to die, he has no real issue with the actual killing of people if necessary. But this doesn't change the fact that he's still a very polite, well mannered young man. It just means he can give you tea one minute and then try to kill you the next if he had to.

Can do all the pilot=y things, some of the fight-y things, and a surprising amount of math/science things one minute and then fanboy over Mozart or Wagner in his down time. Both a Left Brain and a Right Brain type. Plays a variety of instruments, also loves to draw and paint.

Also comes equipped with a gundam so one more massive mecha to fly around the place. Oh, and he's the youngest of... I want to say 30 kids? More or less. The only boy, because of course. :)
Desired CR:
Can't say I have any particular aims at the moment. He's pretty polite and will probably converse with anyone on a superficially friendly level. Loves fellow musicians and can bond with fellow pilots as well.
Probably the second least likely of the four (after Duo) to have an easy time branching out his CR because he's a pretty sociable guy in a slightly more.. introverted way than his friend there.
But people who'll push him politically might be interesting. Not naming any names Ari

I don't know if we'll have anyone in game younger than him, but the idea of Big Brother Quatre is kind of cute. He's very much used to being the family baby. Sadg.

Character Summary: Red is a mech-riding worker-for-hire in a world of floating landmasses in the sky populated by cat and dog people. So while being around so many humans is a little bit of a surreal experience for him, piloting his way into daring adventures and life-threatening trials is nothing new. Heck, he lives for this kind of nonsense. He's also very much a headstrong dork whose 'intelligence' is mostly tied up in his mechanical and aeronautical inclinations. Suffice to say, searching for the greatest treasure in the universe is pretty much his dream job.

If you have any familiarity with the Spitz dog breeds, you might already have a feel for his personality, but in summary: he's pushy, reward-driven, and impulsive, but also loyal, enthusiastic, and- deep down- quite empathetic.
Desired CR: Everything! Red's hoping to slide into the captain's seat so he'll need some people- whether in his crew or outside of his crew- to keep his ego in check... or alternately, to enable him all the more into living the life of the pulp-novel adventuring type he's always wanted to be.
Offered CR: In terms of crew-- You need an ace pilot? He's your dog. He can also fill the role of mechanic or weapons expert, though he'll be lustfully eyeing the helm half the time.

In terms of characterization? Red's the perfect mix of "actually competent and kinda cool" and "big furry dweeb who squirms when you poke him". And since you can never quite tell which side of the straight man-and-fool dynamic he lands on, he can be many things to many people: Need the id to your superego? The reckless one to drive you into trouble? The dashing hero to sweep you OUT of trouble? You've got your number one dog right here.
Other: In Red's world, bones are a macho cliche among canines similar to cigars or cigarettes. And he could totally quit any time he wanted.

Character Name: Edward Allen "Eddie" Bloomberg | Kid Devil
Canon: DC Comics (a defunct continuity)
Character Summary: Despite the summary up there, Eddie Bloomberg seems to be a character that some people DO like (part of the reason I offered him up for the game). He's a kind-hearted young man who started out on the path to costumed superheroics at age twelve and refused to give it up (out of a desire to help people) even when his parents and guardians told him he was too young. He loves engineering and inventing, and he's quite smart. Give him a problem to work on and he'll tackle it until it's solved.
Eddie is currently 19 years old and has been through a lot of upheaval -- the destruction of his original universe, travel to an alternate dimension, and the death/erasure of several found-family adults. He's got an "Other Me Annoys Me" relationship with the New Earth Eddie Bloomberg. This Eddie wants to find Fortuna so that he can use it to restore his home (the original Earth-One).

Desired CR: Friends, first and foremost. Eddie is a very friendly character who tries to see the best in people. And he'd rather work together toward the common goal of finding Fortuna than end up with rival factions.
Offered CR: He's an enthusiastic and supportive little nerd and if you're nice to him he'll be nice right back. Eddie isn't a pushover, though -- if you rock up looking to start a fight, he'll oblige you.

Character Name: Adela Pérez
Canon: Original
Character Summary: Adela is from a science fiction space opera set in a Used Future setting starring latinamericans, particuarly mexicans after Earth becomes... not good. It is heavily inspired by the original StarCraft, with other science fiction tropes and mexican history peppered in. So of course it has hordes of bug aliens you need to kill by the millions, and scary psionic aliens that hate everything that is not theirs, while you're piloting a small mech that's tied up with duck tape.

She's an officer that served in the military of her world, before being disillusioned just as her government failed her, and turned revolutionary. Unfortunately, since it became a literal revolution in that things went back exactly towards where they started, she's now desperate enough for another solution.

Adela is loud as all heck and irreverent, but incredibly affectionate and loyal towards her principles of helping people. She developed a severe problem with authority, and especially dislikes corporate powers. Due to this, she tries to help and free people, and not even she believes her rank means much anymore. This also ended up making her behave very much unlike real military, except during combat.

Desired CR: Adela would love drinking bodies, people helping her help others, people to discuss other points of view, and people to repair stuff with.
Offered CR: Adela will be eager to teach people the stuff she learned during her time in her world, and can annoy your character by being affectionate and loud as all hell. Fortunately for your character, she also makes killer BBQ which can involve synthetic and non-synthetic meats.

Character Summary: mcgillis is a son of the earth sphere's political elite, which is one and the same as the upper echelon of the paramilitary gjallarhorn that enforces the political elite's will. he has quite a few ideas about gjallarhorn's future and is pursuing fortuna to enact them. he also goes vroom vroom zoom zoom in this baby. most importantly: mcg's character is a walking thesis on CSA (altho his background is unlikely to crop up a lot), so please, opt out here if you need/want to.

Desired & Offered CR: mcg doesn't form emotional bonds easily, and as he is pursuing fortuna to accomplish a lifelong mission, his primary goal atm is professional relationships. you can expect him to be polite, if a little smug, and to be interested in other characters' skills and potentially nurturing them.

* mcg likes to hop into the fray of mech dogfights if he finds it fun(ny) or interesting, so someone that is comfortable taking command of the bridge in his place would be nice! i'd be interested in mcg coming to trust this person in the long term.
* a lot of mobile suits (giant mech) from his universe are outfitted with training simulations that can assumed to be available on ship AKA i'd be glad to offer any interested crew the ability to learn (or otherwise train). he is not the mentor type but would be a competent instructor. i wouldn't require threading to train, but i had some ideas to flesh the offer out if there is any interest.
* he is pretty unflappable to insults, microaggressions, and anything considered weird or annoying and is capable of being really, really weird himself, depending on the subject. he may also enable stupidity (or at least stand out of the way) for the sheer factor of it being funny.
* mcg talks and hangs out with his childhood bestie quite a bit, so feel free to use it as a hook/in with mcg!

Canon: Original Character, Do Not Steal - but technically Eberron
Character Summary: Tok's a small kobold with a big love for clockworks and constructs and even bigger dreams involving such- mostly she wants to replicate the miracle of true artificial life akin to the warforged, and also spread her innovations around magical prosthetics across the globe and maybe also ever so slightly shake up established social orders and take down the dragonmarked houses into the bargain but what's a little world optimization really-

Tok's here because she is super excited about the prospect of going to space and has come to the conclusion that, even if she doesn't win the grand prize, she's still going to be coming home with a treasure trove of knowledge that she never could've had before.
Desired CR: Tok's got a little bit of a temper and she can be blunt, but she's overall a very upbeat person, and she'd love to come away with some friends from this! Especially friends who're either artificial themselves and/or will not mind her babbling questions at them and taking notes on everything. That said, I wouldn't object to her encountering rivals, whether they be people who think her goals are dangerous or immoral, or just people who think her taste in tea or coffee is a moral abomination.
Offered CR: If you hand Tok something that's broken, she'll probably want to fix it. If you're made of metal at least in part, she's going to want to be your friend. She also specializes in arcane-technical prosthetics, so if you express interest in her augmentations she may do something very dangerous and offer you the same.
