[For a moment, Ari's worried that she has inadvertently caused offence. She listens, respectfully, and what she hears is a surprisingly familiar story.]

Your family were brave, to strike out on their own. All your people who went out were. Something similar happened in my own people's history. Our first world fell to tyranny, and over time all the visionaries and innovators, the company owners, and all the people who valued liberty went out to the stars. The first pioneers went on the slow ships, but our people developed faster engines, better terraformers. The tyrants wanted control of it all, and it led to a war for our freedom. Breakaway. My own great-grandmother fought in it.

[Ari's beginning to look quite troubled by the thought of it.] I'm sorry that it happened to your people too - that your first homeworld went that way. I hope it isn't a pattern, between worlds. People shouldn't have to go through that.
